GCBuying review 2026

What GCBuying offers, what users say about it, and when Nosh is the better choice.

The short version

  • GCBuying: Gift cards and crypto, with payouts you can take in coins.
  • Nosh: The same two, plus Cedis, zero-fee bills and a rate you see first.

Why people compare GCBuying with other apps

Most people looking at alternatives have hit one of three situations.

  • The rate changed: Reviewers describe being paid less than the rate they accepted, explained afterwards as a market adjustment.
  • Naira, wherever you are: Non-Nigerian users are credited in Naira and have to withdraw through crypto to get value out.
  • The scores don't agree: 3.9 on Google Play against 2.4 on Trustpilot is a wide gap to weigh up.

What GCBuying does

GCBuying buys gift cards and cryptocurrency: you sell a card or send coins, the value lands in a Naira wallet, and you withdraw it to a Nigerian bank account or take it out in BTC, ETH or USDT across several networks.

Where each platform is ahead

Neither app covers everything. These are the differences that matter most.

Where GCBuying is ahead

  • Network choice on crypto USDT and others across several chains, including Polygon
  • Takes overseas sellers not limited to traders in Nigeria
  • Web trading a full trade in the browser, with no install
  • Longer track record on crypto coins and cards together since 2023

Where Nosh is ahead

  • Nigeria and Ghana Naira or Cedis, with MoMo top-up
  • More coins 13, including USDC, TRX, BNB, DOGE and LTC
  • Somewhere for the money to go airtime, data, bills, betting top-ups and eSIMs
  • Buying as well as selling gift cards you can purchase, not only trade in

Our verdict

The closest competitor on paper. The difference shows up after the trade.

GCBuying does the two things most traders want, cards and coins, and it does them for sellers outside Nigeria as well, which Nosh does not. Its weak spot is what reviewers report at the end of a trade: a rate revised downward after acceptance, and value lost converting Naira back into crypto, complaints that show up across Trustpilot and both app stores. Nosh covers the same ground with 13 coins rather than three, pays in Cedis as well as Naira, and gives the money somewhere to go, with zero-fee airtime, data and bills in the same wallet. If you sell from outside Nigeria or need a specific network for your USDT, GCBuying has the edge; for traders in Nigeria and Ghana, Nosh is the safer default.

You don't have to leave GCBuying to try Nosh. The app is free, you see the live rate for your card before you submit it, and you can keep both and trade wherever the rate is better that day.

What People Also Ask About GCBuying

GCBuying is run by GCBuying Technology Projects Limited, a registered Nigerian company in Lagos, and has operated since 2021. Its ratings vary widely by source, from 3.9 on Google Play to 2.4 on Trustpilot, so read recent reviews on more than one platform before you trade.

Yes. It supports Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDT across several networks, and credits the value to your Naira wallet. Nosh converts 13 coins to Naira or Cedis.

Yes, and overseas sellers do use it. Payouts are still credited in Naira, so users outside Nigeria typically withdraw in crypto, which is where several complaints about lost value come from.

There is no Cedis payout. For a Cedis option, Nosh sells gift cards in both Nigeria and Ghana.

Its Trustpilot profile is largely international and heavily weighted to complaints, at 65% one star against 25% five star, while its Google Play reviews come mostly from traders who use it regularly. Neither number alone tells you much; the recurring complaint in both is the gap between the rate accepted and the amount paid.

Nosh trades the same gift cards and crypto, adds Cedis payouts for Ghana, and charges no fees on airtime, data and bills. If you sell from outside Nigeria, GCBuying remains the one of the two that takes you.

Ask the platform for the reason in writing, then contact the store or person you bought the card from with your receipt. This applies on any gift card platform.
